NO'TA Community Guidelines

NO'TA is built for thoughtful public conversation. These guidelines explain what belongs on the platform, what does not, and how we respond when content or behavior crosses the line.

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use NO'TA, unless the law where you live requires a higher minimum age.

Summary: Treat people with respect, keep content lawful, avoid spam and manipulation, do not expose private information, use public-context messaging responsibly, and report unsafe or abusive behavior.

1. Respect people and communities

Post in a way that supports real discussion. Criticism, disagreement, satire, and debate are allowed, but targeted abuse is not.

  • No harassment, bullying, threats, or intimidation.
  • No hate speech or degrading attacks based on identity or protected characteristics.
  • No coordinated dogpiling, brigading, or attempts to silence other users.
  • No abuse through replies, quote responses, public-context messages, profiles, reviews, or journey/reflection comments.
  • Follow topic-specific community rules in addition to these platform-wide guidelines.

2. Keep people safe

We remove content that creates a serious safety risk or promotes harm.

  • No violent threats, incitement, or glorification of real-world harm.
  • No promotion of self-harm, suicide instructions, or dangerous challenges.
  • No sexual exploitation, abuse material, or any sexual content involving minors.
  • No content that facilitates trafficking, exploitation, or coercion.
  • No support for terrorist, extremist, or violent criminal organizations.
  • No medical, legal, financial, or crisis advice presented as professional help when it is not.

3. Protect privacy and personal information

Do not expose or pressure others to share private contact details or identifying information.

  • No doxxing or sharing someone else's private address, phone number, email, or documents.
  • No posting private conversations or media without authorization where privacy expectations apply.
  • No attempts to evade the platform's contact-info guard or safety filters.
  • Respect the privacy choices people make about name, profile, and identity on NO'TA.

4. Keep the platform honest

Misleading or manipulative behavior undermines trust and will be acted on.

  • No impersonation of people, organizations, or official NO'TA accounts.
  • No scams, phishing, fraud, or deceptive requests for money or credentials.
  • No coordinated spam, repetitive promotion, or artificial engagement manipulation.
  • No misleading links, malware, or content designed to trick users into unsafe actions.
  • No false reports, reputation gaming, ban evasion, invite-gate evasion, or automated account creation.
  • No synthetic media, edited media, or AI-generated content presented in a way that materially deceives people.

5. Keep content lawful

Illegal content and content used to facilitate illegal conduct is prohibited.

  • No instructions or solicitation for violent crimes or serious unlawful acts.
  • No sale or promotion of illegal goods or services.
  • No regulated goods or services unless a NO'TA feature explicitly allows them and all laws are followed.
  • No copyright or trademark abuse when you do not have the right to share the material.
  • No attempts to bypass account restrictions, bans, or moderation systems.

6. Use public-context messaging responsibly

NO'TA conversations attach to public content and are not a place to pressure people for private contact or confidential disclosures.

  • Do not use message-about-this flows to harass, shame, threaten, or repeatedly contact someone.
  • Do not pressure people to share phone numbers, emails, addresses, documents, financial details, or private accounts.
  • Do not use NO'TA messaging for emergency response, legal notice, medical treatment, or professional advice.
  • Respect blocks, private-profile limits, mute/archive states, and other interaction boundaries.

7. Share media, links, and offers honestly

Images, videos, links, reviews, place data, and offer-related content must be safe, accurate, and not misleading.

  • No non-consensual intimate imagery, sexualized harassment, or exploitative media.
  • No malicious links, disguised destinations, credential collection, or files intended to compromise devices.
  • No fake reviews, undisclosed conflicts, misleading prices, or deceptive offers.
  • Only post place, business, price, promotion, or availability details you have a lawful basis to share.

8. Reporting, moderation, and enforcement

We review reports, may use automated signals to reduce risk, and take action when content or behavior violates the rules or creates an operational safety concern.

  • Users can report posts, comments, messages, and profiles through in-app reporting flows.
  • Users can block other users to stop interaction and reduce unwanted contact.
  • Keyword filters, AI-assisted moderation, rate limits, and device or login signals may block or limit abuse.
  • Moderators and authorized operators may remove content, limit reach, warn, suspend, shadow restrict, or ban accounts.
  • Repeated or severe violations may result in immediate account restrictions without prior warning.

9. Questions or appeals

If you believe action was taken in error, contact us with enough detail for review. Community-specific rules may also affect moderation outcomes inside a topic or group.
